We start the awkward conversations, so you don't have to
Help SWAD get the "Sexy Back" to Naidex disability exhibition!
We REALLY want to share SWAD's message of the human right to intimacy for all. Naidex is Europe’s most established event for independent living and supporting the disabled community, showcasing wide-ranging solutions to improve mobility and accessibility, the latest innovations and tech, and explores the future of digital and physical accessibility.

About
SWAD is a training organisation, specialising in the area of disability and sex.
As a newly disabled woman in 2007, Lorraine Stanley, hunted high and low for support and guidance on the subject of sex and disability, and found very little accessible help. Lorraine decided to be pro-active, and ran several sex and disability discussion groups at her local independent living centre.
Positive feedback received from delegates at her group sessions, made it clear that the subject would require more research. Results showed that health and social care professionals had a lack of knowledge and understanding of the obstacles faced by people with disabilities; when it comes to a fulfilling intimate and sexual life - solo or otherwise.
The need for SWAD reflects the need for a professional, business approach to fill the gap between the requirements of the Disabled Community, and what is currently being offered by service providers. We believe that sex is something that can be openly discussed, and should not be swept under the carpet.
SWAD grew from the seeds of a community project into the training organisation it is today, primarily covering Dorset and surrounding areas.
Sex and disability is our favourite topic, and we are always happy to chat about it. We would love you to join in our conversation!
